The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) will hold a conference on ‘Distribution Reforms in the Power Sector’ on 6th December, 2011 in New Delhi. The Conference will focus on key issues affecting the reform process.
Efficiency in power distribution has remained a big challenge even after introduction of major reforms in the power sector. Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reform Program (R-APDRP) initiative towards efficient demand side management, problems and prospects in privatization of distribution, regulatory issues, financing, tariff and subsidies, IT in distribution, Smart Grid Future and open access have been identified as some of the other issues which will be addressed by experts from the power sector.
The conference seeks to get different perspectives from Central and State Government agencies, distribution companies, regulatory agencies, financial institutions, technology providers and suppliers of equipment to the sector.
