Recent Trends in International Arbitration

August 2017

In recent times, the need to promote institutional arbitration has been a top agenda for many Asian countries, especially India.  The Government of India appointed a high-level committee to review the institutionalisation of arbitration mechanism in India and suggest reforms.  The committee has recently submitted its report making several recommendations.  Increase in international trade, cross border transactions and foreign investments have resulted in Indian parties opting to resolve their commercial disputes through international arbitrations seated in India and in foreign seats such as Singapore, London, Hong Kong, Paris, Geneva, Kuala Lumpur, New York etc.

Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan is organising a half-day conference for Inhouse Counsels & Business Leaders on “Recent Trends in International Arbitration” on 31st of August, 2017 at The Leela Ambience, Gurgaon.
