Conference call on Tax implications in Development Agreements

November 2018 | 3:00pm – 4:00pm

Agreements between land owners and developers have taken multiple forms, and have considerably evolved over time. Besides settling things commercially between the parties, the purpose behind such agreements also has been to align the intent of the parties with the extant law, including tax laws such as income-tax, GST, or the erstwhile service-tax law.

The underlying property laws such as Transfer of Property Act, 1882, and other incidental laws such as the Stamp Duty Act, 1899 (including the applicable State laws), and the Registration Act, 1908, also have considerable bearing on such agreements.

Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys are organizing a conference call on “Tax implications in Development Agreements” on 23rd of November 2018 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Mr. V Sridharan, Senior Advocate, Bombay High Court, alongwith Mr. Kalpesh Shah, Executive Partner, L&S  and Mr. L Badri Narayanan, Partner, L&S will share their views and interpretations regarding contentious tax issues that surround development agreements.
